Green Monday Michael Kors Saturday marked a historic day with the City of Austin with all the opening in the new Austin Animal Center. The $12 million facility was approved in the year 2006 as a bond election by taxpayers."This was decades in the making for us so that this moment where we could open our doors in my ballet shoes to welcome the town in to the see the new place," said Abigail Smith, Chief Animal Services Officer. The facility, located on Levander Loop, was built being green under consideration, including using 34,000 bricks out of the demolished buildings that stood there before. The state the art facility boasts 40 townhome style dog suites with indoor rooms, a good outside exercise spot for rabbits, pigs in addition to other small pets, 10 cat rooms with screened in porches and 41,400 square centimeter of space.Smith says the hub will remain involved with being a no kill city.
